Do you truly feel that way, or are you trying to get paid? Don't mistake right now for tomorrow. Today, you may feel that wearing your hair natural is the only way it should be ever worn. As a man of culture, when I met the love of my life, her being natuarl is something that stood out. I don't care for the fake hair, nails, or makeup, and she had none of these things on. My mom was natural when I was growing up, and I think she is one of the most beautiful women in the world. So with knowing this people, let me point out the 3 easiest ways to know you are a sell out.
1. I like to call this one riding the wave. If you are doing anything just because everyone else is doing it, you're a sell out. You're not even making money for it! Not trying to sound like your parents back in the day, but following the "in crowd" is a tale tell sign that you sold out.
2. Working hard to be different: If you are different, you just are. There is no manual on how to become it. I have been called weird, strange, and crazy every since I could remember. I never woke up and said, "I want to be different." It's just who I am. The thing about trying to be different is, you tend to follow a trend of someone who is naturally out of the box. For example, Andre 3000, Erykah Badu, or Cee Lo Green are out of the box.
3. The change up: I see this a lot. Last week, every post on your timeline was negative all because people were buying into the negativity. As soon as it stopped selling, here comes the change up. I get lost when people don't have consistency. I understand growth, and I love to see growth in a person. What I don't understand is how last week you were sounding like Future, this week you sound like Kendrick, and if that don't sell, your going to flip it to Asap Rocky.
Our culture has had enough sell outs. We have created trends that set changes on a constant basis. I hope I'm not alone when I say it sickens me to know we don't have stock or shares in anything we ourselves create, because we keep selling out!
